| What is a zine? | A zine is a published fan-made “magazine” that includes short stories and art centered around a chosen theme. For this project, we will also be creating merch to be bundled alongside the zine. The zine and merch bundles will open for preorder in 2026 with P4P (pay for production) pricing. |
| Who are the mods? | Profiles for our mods–including our Finance Mod–will be linked on our Carrd’s homepage in the near future. Because mods are split between Europe and the Americas, we expect to divide finances to make sure US orders are covered. |
| What is this theme about? | Our theme for this project is “unhealthy obsessions” and the works we feature will explore obsessive tropes that are typically labelled as “dead dove”. Dead dove kinks and tropes like kidnapping, atticwifing, objectification, stalking, and other dubious or non-consensual acts are welcome here. |
| What danmei will be included in this zine? | After totalling the results of the Interest Check, the Unhealthy Obsessions zine will include fanworks for: SVSSS, TGCF, MDZS, QJJ, Erha, Yuwu, Thousand Autumns, and The Disabled Tyrant's Beloved Pet Fish. |
| What kinds of merch will be created for the zine? | Our Interest Check determined that the most popular merch items were: Keychains, Enamel Pins, Buttons, Prints and Postcards, Stickers and Sticker Sheets, Photocards and PC Holders, Standees, and Bookmarks. These are not guaranteed, but we hope to see some examples in your applications! |
| Will each danmei have the same amount of works/merch? | We hope! This depends on the results of the interest check and contributor applications. The amount of fanworks will depend on interest as well as available creators. |
| Why was my danmei not selected? | We want each danmei in our zine to be properly represented with fics, merch, and art. Without enough contributors per category to represent each danmei equally, we'll have to be selective. |
| Will you allow side couples? | Our first priority is that each danmei included in this zine will receive merch, art, and fic for its main couple. When this is fulfilled we will look into side and non-canon couples. |
| Are AI images/text allowed? | NO! We will not, under any circumstances, allow the use of generative AI in the creation of this zine. Contributors found to be using AI in their submissions will be dropped from the project. |
| How do I apply? | Once applications are open, please fill out one of the forms linked above. Final decisions will be sent out via email with a Discord server invite attached. |
| How will the zine be funded? | This zine is nonprofit and pay-for-production. If we reach our preorder goal, we hope to gift each of our contributors a Zine + Merch bundle of their own. When our all orders are sent out, we will release a free-to-read PDF. |
| What will be done with leftover funds? | After production is funded and every bundle is shipped out, the remainder of our funds will be donated to Doctors Without Borders! |
| How much will shipping cost? | We can’t give accurate estimates at this time for delivery to the US, but international shipping will likely be around €15 for a full bundle, and less for a zine-only order. Shipping will be cheaper within Sweden, and with the future possibility for local pick up. |
| What kinks/topics are not allowed? | Due to local laws, explicit underage content is not allowed. For the sanity of the mods and their squicks, we also prohibit the following: scat, snuff, emetophilia, and any kink involving sexual gratification via animals or insects/bugs (monsterfucking is fine, of course!). |
| What IS allowed? | Readers and contributors can reasonably expect to find obsessive tropes such as kidnapping, creepy behaviour, drugging, manipulation, Stockholm Syndrome, and dub- or noncon. But we will also include topics such as gore, omegaverse, and genderbending if that's what our contributors cook up. We will have warnings in the zine’s index so readers can skip specific pages if needed. |
